Discover the exciting world of CAD/CAM technology with our two-day beginner-level class, designed specifically for those ready to take their CNC journey to the next level. This class is a seamless continuation of our popular CNC Class for Beginners, providing you with the foundational tools and knowledge needed to bring your creative visions to life.
Classes run from 9am – 5pm daily with a 1 hour lunch break.
Hands-On Learning with VCarve Pro
We teach with several different CAD/CAM software suites at the North Carolina Furniture School. For this class we will focus on the industry leading VCarve Pro from Vectric because we believe it is the best solution for startups, hobbyists, and most small-to-medium scale manufactories, sign shops, cabinet shops, etc. VCarve Pro is frequently sold as part of the purchase of a CNC machine, and it is the software we use most frequently in our personal work.
In class, we will guide you through a series of hands-on exercises using VCarve Pro CAD/CAM software. You will learn to draw and edit shapes, create multiples, create textures, make signs, work with clipart, create intricate inlays and v-carvings, and much more. Each session is structured to enhance your understanding of key concepts while allowing you to practice real-world applications that will prepare you for future projects.
We have 9 computer stations equipped with VCarve Pro version 12.5. If you prefer to bring your own computer, please install VCarve Pro before the first day of class. We also have 3 CNC machines you will use to create your a few things during the class!
