How long are the Classes?

In-person classes at the North Carolina Furniture School range from 1 – 5 days. The number of days and other class details are found under the Event Details tab on the individual page for each class.

What Time do NCFS Classes Start & End?

Our classes typically run from 9am-4pm. In some rare cases we may start or end at a different time, we will let you know by email, text, or phone call if there is a special start or end time.

Are there hotels or other lodging options near NCFS?

We recommend checking Air BnB
and search for ‘Farmville, NC’ there are some great options walking distance from the shop. We also recommend the Courtyard by Marriott in Greenville.

Do I need to bring my own tools to the class?

For most NCFS classes you do not need to bring your tools, we provide everything for you. For all hand tool classes and intermediate – advanced woodturning classes, you do need to bring your own tools so you are learning with tools you will use at home.

Do I need to bring my own PPE?

We do ask you to bring your own PPE for all NCFS classes and events. Safety glasses are required at all times in the machine room, hearing protection is strongly recommended, and face shields are required for all woodturning classes.

Are there Lunch options near the North Caorlina Furniture School?

We have numerous lunch options within walking distance of NCFS including traditional Mexican Food, Family dining Mexican Food, a French Bakery, an old fashioned diner, and Italian. There are also numerous fast food options a short drive away.

Do you offer full time training?

We proudly offer a full immersion program called the Cabinet & Furniture Maker’s Program, in which you can study with us 5 days a week, for one year. The program is tuition based, with flexible payment options. Contact us for details.

Do you offer Workforce Development Training?

We develop private trainings in partnership with industry, institutions, and government organizations, to address specific training needs. Depending on the specificity of your training needs, these workshops can be taught at NCFS or at your facility.

Do you offer private trainings for College Faculty & Staff?

We love working with fellow educators and understand the need for faculty training and continuing education. We can develop private courses to meet your needs, with options for learning at NCFS or on your campus. Contact us today for details.
