STUDENT REVIEWS
I took a wood turning class here back in December and it was definitely the best Christmas present I could get myself. Gave me the confidence in safety and skill I needed to get started. The town is also a quiet place to spend a weekend. I hope to be back soon for a follow-up course or to try something new in furniture building.
“A coworker and I took a basic CNC machining class here, and Stuart did an excellent job teaching us everything he promised he would and more. We came away with new knowledge, new ideas, and a classroom full of new friends.”
I spent the last two days in the introduction to CNC class and it was fabulous. Stuart’s deep knowledge and passion for the wood was exactly what I needed on my journey to greater skills. My head is spinning with the ideas and possibilities. Thanks Stuart!
My husband and I have taken classes several times at the North Carolina furniture school and Stuart is an excellent teacher and a gifted artist. We have thoroughly enjoyed attending wood turning there. We have even purchased our own lathe.
I’ve taken 3 classes at this school over the last year and they have helped increase my skill level and knowledge tremendously. They have changed how I approach any woodworking project I attempt. And because of the things Stuart taught me, it has helped me work smarter and significantly increased my enjoyment while working on a project. His classes aren’t just about how to turn or create something. He takes the time to explain why and how things work, as well as some of the history behind furniture making and turning. Plus, there is the added benefit of him including some of his personal experiences as well, which are extremely interesting. Stuart places a big emphasis on safety and awareness. Topics which were glossed over in other classes I’ve taken, and this has been a big benefit as well. I have learned many techniques to help me work more safely.
I would highly recommend any class he offers.
