NCFS Class designation 1002
ShopBot and the North Carolina Furniture School have teamed up to offer comprehensive CNC training for all skill levels. Drawing, Tooling, & the Machine is the second of two classes in the Basic Training series at NCFS. We offer ShopBot Basic Training classes on the first and third weeks of the month. Students must complete both levels of Basic Training prior to enrolling in classes designated as 2000 or higher, as general machine and software proficiencies are required in those courses. CNC classes are limited to 12 students and are held in the NCFS Computer Lab, located in downtown Farmville, NC.
The first class in this series introduces you to the CNC systems and how they work together. This class builds on that foundation by diving deeper into the each part of the CNC system so we can start cutting. We start with a quick review of topics from Introduction to CNC. We then expand on those topics with new and more complex exercises in Vectric VCarve Pro. We start in the CAD workspace. Then we dive into the CAM workspace for cutter programming and toolpathing. We finish up by sending our files to the machine to create some projects!
This is a fun class, where the tech behind CNC will start to make real sense. You will take big strides toward using CNC to make the stuff you dream of making! There are only 12 seats available, so be sure to reserve you seat in this class before they fill up, and we’ll see you in the shop!
